Today, the people who cheat in a relationship come in all shapes, sizes and looks. It is no longer the smooth operator but that innocent looking mother or father who is doing the dirty deeds as well. Anyone is capable of infidelity in their lives and it all depends on various factors and circumstances. However, there are people who are more likely to be unfaithful than others.

We have received several questions pertaining to the most likely candidates to be a cheater. It is a very popular question and many persons have their own views and opinions on the topic. The main thing to remember is that anyone can be unfaithful; there are women who cheat and men who cheat. Another popular question is whether a person who cheated on you previously will do it again. The answer is yes but statistics show 20% are actually repeat offenders once caught. Remember only a small portion of persons will mess around no matter what.

Below is a list of the most likely people who cheat:

• Attractive People: There is a direct correlation with a person’s looks and their likelihood to be unfaithful. When someone is attractive they will get more attention whether male or female. This attention is sometimes too overwhelming for anyone no matter the gender of the person.

• Opportunity: Possibilities can’t pass someone by all the time sometimes you will take them. Opportune times like business trips; long working hours and other activities which involve one partner only opens the doors for infidelity. It can go either way with the person who is away or at home.

• Wealthy: When someone is wealthy or is known to be well off they tend to attract many persons towards them. Women are attracted to men who are rich because these persons can better take care of them and can also give them the quality of life they hope for. The term gold digger does come to mind when you take a look at some of the people the stars have cheated with. Some women actually pocketed millions out of affairs with wealthy men and even wrote books.

• Popular: When someone is popular he or she is well known either by profession (athlete, dj, lawyer); or maybe personality (in the workplace) or socially. Whatever reason it may be persons are drawn to these people. Other persons tend to put them on a pedastal in terms of excitement or in terms of association (i.e. you hanging with this person so you are cool).

• Low self-esteem: Everyone has low self esteem for some reason or another from time to time. There are persons who suffer from it constantly because of the position they may be in or psychologically over the years. The most common causes of low self esteem are weight issues and relationship issues.  These people are more susceptible to cheating when the opportunity comes there way.

• People who cheat previously: We previously discussed that a cheater who is caught is 20% likely to be a repeater. How about those girls or guys who cheated on their previous partners? These are likely to be unfaithful on you as well because they broke that barrier. A barrier is a mental block or boundary which you don’t cross. It is like a lie, when you start to lie to your parents it becomes easier over time. You may even begin to justify certain activities over time.

• Age: There is more evidence showing the younger you are the more promiscuous you tend to be especially persons under the age of thirty. This is because persons at a younger age are quite not ready to settle down. They generally don’t have the commitments or maturity as older persons would have and they have more options open to them because of their youth.

• Friends are players: If your spouse or lover has close friends who are players or are promiscuous this increases the chances of them being the same.  Remember birds of a feather flock together. So keep an eye on who they hang with, it may give you a clue of who your spouse really is.
